Propagate
Propagate tells the stories of NSW’s best and brightest young farmers.
“I want to thank the courageous young farmers who shared their incredible, real and heartfelt stories of working with family. We wanted this podcast to help young farmers and fishers start succession conversations”
— Alex Hicks, NSW DPI
THE BRIEF
The NSW Department of Primary Industries Young Farmer Business Program wanted to share positive stories from young farmers who are developing exciting and innovative business models as primary producers across the state. Making a podcast was an opportunity to reach their target audience who are spread out geographically but highly engaged via digital media. The series met the listener where they are – out on the land or on a long drive and looking to stay connected and be inspired by new ideas.
WHAT WE DID
Working with the client, Audiocraft has researched and developed six seasons, with eight episodes in each, covering key farming and fishing topics. We’ve travelled to locations around regional NSW, from Broken Hill to Byron Bay, capturing diverse stories and location sounds. What resulted is a sound rich exploration of life on the land and sea.
The podcast launched at the Young Farmers Business Program conference in Dubbo and was followed by a strategic marketing campaign. We also captured photos and video content in the field, built a series of social media assets for the promotion of the podcast, and provided media outreach support.
